Yoga Game: Football (Core strength; Coordination)
It’s Superbowl season and everybody is talking football; but this yoga game has nothing to do with scrimmage lines or quarterbacks, and everything to do with building strong and healthy cores… along with an appreciation for our humble tootsies!
Begin sitting in circle for small group, or partners facing one another, and pass a ball (or a beanbag) to each other using only the feet.
*Lesson Plan Idea – Pass an inflatable globe and have music set to stop at random intervals, the person holding the ball in their feet when the music stops selects a country from the globe and the group works together to create a yoga pose based on a fact known about this country. (It can be something as simple as the hemisphere the country is in and what season they are currently experiencing).
