Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga (KAY)
Building on our Introduction to Kids Yoga Training, our ADVANCED 8-day training, Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga (KAY) is a specialized yoga instructor training program designed for parents, pediatric professionals and yoga teachers. Our unique course focuses on adapting sessions for those with differing abilities, special needs, illness, and physical or developmental limitations. Teachers graduating from the KAY program will have the ability and confidence to lead kids yoga sessions that are inclusive and accessible to ALL children.
YoYo Yoga’s ADVANCED KAY training builds on our Introduction to Kids Yoga Training – you will learn to incorporate yogic practices to benefit ALL kids and explore how to make yoga fun and engaging for each developmental age, while meeting the differing needs of the children you serve.

Practicum/Experiential Learning – Upon completion of each yoga instructor training practicum hour requirements and assignments will be issued. Those seeking RCYT registration with Yoga Alliance MUST complete all assignments/practicum in a timely manner. Practicum and assignments will be reviewed one-on-one with Lisa Roberts. For out of state or long distance students, video submissions and phone/video reviews will substitute live instruction for practicum assignments.
KAY Course Requirements – Our Introduction to Kids Yoga training is mandatory and must be completed prior to taking the Advanced KAY training. Assignments/non-contact hour homework, exams and practicum are optional for participants not requiring the 95hr Yoga Alliance certification. Those seeking to register with YA as a RCYT MUST also be a YA RYT.
Educator Discounts – As advocates for accessible and affordable yoga for ALL children, we at YoYo Yoga School understand this begins by making our teaching workshops and teaching tools affordable and accessible for those who work with kids. We offer a 20% discount on upcoming workshops and teaching tools for educators (yes, that’s 20% off the already discounted early bird prices too!).
Our Trainer – All of our yoga teacher training workshops are led by leading pediatric yoga specialist, Lisa Roberts (ERYT-200, RCYT) in St. Louis. Lisa has over eleven years’ experience providing wellness to kids in a clinical setting. Highly skilled at adapting yoga to make it accessible for all abilities while keeping classes fun and engaging for kids, Lisa developed KAY (Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga) based on her experience working with critically ill and physically/developmentally challenged kids. She is the author of two kids yoga books, three CD’s of guided breathing and meditation for kids, and flashcards that promote kinesthetic learning.
