Fire Breathing Dragon

Ever wish you could be a fire-breathing dragon? Well, you can! Dragon Breath is a playful way to release pent up tension or frustration and have fun at the same time. A fabulous self-regulation tool for kids, you can teach children the breathing technique as outlined below or combine dragon breath with a body movement as demonstrated in the featured Mindful Mini video.

Happy breathing, stretching, playing!

How does it help?

Dragon Breath is a great tool to have in your toolbox for times when you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or frustrated. Letting all of those feelings go, Dragon Breath will have you feeling stress-free and chilled out in no time.

Simple steps:

· Begin in a comfortable position, either seated or lying down.

· Take an easy breath in through the nose, slowly filling your lungs until you feel your belly gently expand.

· Open your mouth and let the breathe out with an *“aaaaaah” sound.

· Repeat 3-5 times.

*Tip: Be sure to maintain control of your dragon’s fire-breath! Imagine your dragoon is toasting a marsh-mellow and if he forces the air out too quickly the marsh-mellow will burn to a crisp, if he aspirates, the heat from his breath will gently and evenly toast the delicate marsh-mellow to perfection.
